Message of U.S. Ambassador Eric Wendt:
Greetings!
I am Eric Wendt, the new Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Albania. As I begin my service as the United States Ambassador to Albania, I would like to express my gratitude to President Trump and Secretary Rubio for their confidence in me.
I would also like to thank the people of Albania for their warm welcome and for their goodwill toward the United States of America.
During my previous military service, alongside Albania’s Special Forces, as well as during my previous travels throughout Albania, where I met ordinary Albanians in their everyday lives, I experienced firsthand that Albanians are an exceptionally hospitable, hardworking and proud people.
Over the coming months, under my leadership as Ambassador, the United States Embassy will conduct an assessment process that will help shape our path forward.
As part of this process, I look forward to visiting different parts of Albania. In keeping with standard diplomatic practice, I will hold meetings with the various political representatives elected by you, as well as government officials, military leaders, representatives of the business community, the justice system, and leaders in other fields.
At the same time, I look forward to meeting with both American and Albanian citizens. We will discuss both traditional ways and new and creative approaches to working together effectively in the future, focusing on three key areas of mutual benefit to the United States of America and Albania:
The first is: To become stronger. We become stronger when we build genuine defense capabilities and when each of us does its part as an ally.
The second is: To become more prosperous. We will find ways to increase trade, investment and opportunities, bringing mutual benefits to Americans and Albanians.
The third is: To become more secure. We will work together to fight transnational crime and protect our shared interests.
As we carry out this assessment process over the coming months and determine the way forward toward a stronger, more prosperous and more secure future, I also look forward to learning more about the Albanian people, your proud history, and experiencing once again your legendary hospitality.
I am truly honored and blessed to have the opportunity to serve in Albania as the Ambassador of the United States. The United States and Albania share a strong history, a deep friendship and mutual respect. Together, we can achieve concrete results.
Let us move forward together!
