Ish-kancelari gjerman Gerhard Schroeder dhe biznesmeni gjerman Matthias Varnig largohen nga bordi i drejtorëve të kompanisë ruse shtetërore të energjisë Rosneft për shkak se janë intensifikuar polemikat për lidhjet e tyre me Rusinë.

Schroeder, 78 vjeç, ishte kryetar i bordit mbikëqyrës të Rosneft. Rosneft tha të premten se Schroeder vuri në dukje “pamundësinë e zgjatjes së mandatit në bordin e drejtorëve të kompanisë”, pa dhënë detaje.

“Ne e kuptojmë vendimin e tyre dhe i falënderojmë për mbështetjen e vazhdueshme”, tha Rosneft në një deklaratë.

Parlamenti Evropian bëri thirrje të enjten që Schroeder të futet në listën e zezë nëse ai nuk largohet nga bordi i Rosneft, gjë që gjithashtu duhet ta kishte penguar atë në marrjen e detyrës në Gazprom.

Në të njëjtën ditë, parlamenti gjerman vendosi t’i hiqte Schroederit zyrën dhe stafin, që financohen nga taksapaguesit gjermanë dhe të cilat i takojnë si ish-kancelar.

Schroeder, i cili ishte kancelar nga viti 1998 deri në vitin 2005, po përballet me kritikat në rritje nga publiku, për mbajtjen e një pozite fitimprurëse në bordin e Rosneft, të cilen ai e ka mbajtur që nga viti 2017.

Në muajt e fundit, ai është bërë gjithnjë e më i izoluar për shkak të dekadave të punës për kompanitë ruse të energjisë të kontrolluara nga shteti.

Përveç punës së tij në Rosneft, ai ishte i përfshirë në projektet e gazsjellësit Rrjedha e veriut 1 dhe Rrjedha e veriut 2.

Disa javë përpara se Rusia të pushtonte Ukrainën, kompania shtetërore ruse e gazit Gazprom njoftoi se Schroeder ishte emëruar si anëtar i bordit të saj të drejtorëve, i cili do të votohej në asamblenë vjetore të vitit të ardhshëm.

Më herët, gjatë këtij viti, disa të punësuar në zyre dhanë dorëheqjen dhe Schroeder u përball me një valë të re pakënaqësie nga ish-aleatët politikë pasi tha për New York Times se masakra e Buçës pranë Kievit “duhet hetuar”, por se nuk mendon që urdhrat për vrasjen e civilëve ukrainas vinin nga presidenti rus Vladimir Putin, miku i tij shumëvjeçar.

Largimi i Schroeder dhe Varnig erdhi pasi pesë nënpresidentë të tjerë të huaj të Rosneft u larguan, thanë disa burime për Reuters. Ata e bënë këtë përpara sanksioneve të reja të BE-së ndaj Rusisë, të cilat kanë hyrë në fuqi më 15 maj.
