TIRANA, August 6 – Regarding the speculation that there is a possibility that the Head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, a former president, will be declared non grata by the US, the latter responded by saying that they are stories of the propaganda kitchen of PM Edi Rama.
“I don’t deal with these issues at all and you know my position even when Mr. Berisha was announced non- grata. I respect the decision of every country anywhere in the world and absolutely this has nothing to do with the relationship of Ilir Meta, first of all with the people of Albania, because I think that this is the main bond that keeps me in politics, but not only in politics, but throughout my life as a patriot, a citizen, and as a person born and determined to always serve my country regardless of my position,” said Meta on Saturday.
As far as international reports are concerned, Meta said he has been at the head of every effort for the European integration of Albania and no one has done more as a politician in 30 years, coherently, to help this process, than Ilir Meta.
“In the future, we will fulfill every obligation we have in relation to the EU. I have been since my beginnings, even when the Socialist Party was against the accession to NATO, for Albania’s membership in NATO. And we will fulfill all obligations that we have towards NATO in the future. All the others are stories of Edi Rama’s propaganda cuisine,” declared Meta. /Argumentum.al
