TIRANA, September 1 – As he had warned, the chairman of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, filed a criminal complaint with the prosecution authority for serious crime, SPAK, and the Prosecutor’s Office of Tirana against the members of the Files Authority on Thursday.
The former president filed criminal charges against Gentiana Sula, Albert Nikolla, Altin Hoxha, Gjergj Marku and Skender Vrioni, accusing them that they falsified state documents, computer falsification, falsified seals, stamps or forms, misused their duties, spread false information that incites panic as well as disclosed acts or secret data. Meta, a former president, requested that a complete, objective and independent investigation be carried out as soon as possible In the file addressed to SPAK and the prosecutor’s office of Tirana.
“The AIDSSH members, in clear abuse of their public function, have turned into tools to instigate and execute an ugly political attack with serious consequences for the public’s trust in state institutions and the functioning of the rule of law,” stressed Meta in the file, adding that he is open to cooperation regarding the investigations.
According to him, the members of the Files Authority have manipulated and falsified an old file of a person with the initials I.M, claiming it belonged to him (Ilir Meta), and that was done for political blackmail in service of (PM) Edi Rama. It is noticed that the official document in the case of the current criminal complaint filed by the head of FP is signed bearing the surname Metaj as it is registered in the civil registry, which revealed that no changes were made to the files of the civil status of the former president.
In the meantime the Dossier Authority reacted claiming over the authenticity and integrity of the documents it has published. According to a statement released on Thursday, the members of the Authority expressed their indignation at Meta’s accusations, calling them malicious and insulting. /Argumentum.al
