TIRANA, September 15 – Interior Minister Bledi Çuçi has spoken about the ratification of two agreements with Great Britain and the United Arab Emirates in the Assembly.
“These are two very important acts related to addressing security issues and illegal immigration. They are the conclusion of a long negotiation work done by the parties of both countries and an expression of the clear political will to respond with the appropriate force to the challenges related to terrorism and illegal migration,” said Çuçi in plenary session on Thursday.
According to him, the memorandum with Great Britain regulates the entire exchange of information between Tirana and London, including sensitive personal data, and provides for the appointment of a liaison officer.
Regarding the agreement with the United Arab Emirates, he said that that region also is important in the fight against terrorism and organized crime.
“The United Arab Emirates remains an attractive country for groups and persons with criminal records who leave Albania,” said Çuçi.
During the discussion in the Assembly, he also answered the opposition’s accusations about the smuggled oil ship caught in Durrës.
“Raise your finger to the State Police the day when they seized the smuggled oil ship. Say at least one ‘bravo’. Yes, of course we will fight crime with our partners, it is not for nothing that I mentioned earlier that this war requires a coordination of efforts with all other countries, it cannot be won alone”, said the Interior Minister. /Argumentum.al
