TIRANA, September 19 – The Chairman of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, reacted on social networks after the report of the Global Initiative Against Cross-Border Organized Crime, which has estimated that more than 1.2 billion euros were laundered by organized crime in Tirana alone in the last three years.
Meta said that report clarified the solid connection between organized crime and the government of Edi Rama.
Meta said among other things that many families choose to emigrate because it is an impossible mission for them to have an apartment in Tirana.
Below is Meta’s full post:
It is already clear why the prices of apartments in Tirana have reached the stratospheric figures of 2000, 3000 and even 5000 euros per square meter.
It is equally clear the reason why many young families choose to emigrate, since having their own apartment in Tirana is an impossible mission.
The 1.2 billion euros laundered in the construction sector during these three years in Tirana, as revealed by the report of the Global Initiative against Cross-Border Organized Crime, above all clarifies the cemented connection between organized crime and this Government.
