TIRANA, April 8 – The Archbishop of the Diocese of Tirana-Durres, Monsignor Arjan Dodaj congratulated on Saturday the Catholic faithful for the Easter holiday, wishing that Albania will have the strength to overcome the demographic winter with the Resurrection of Christ, not only for the hemorrhage caused by emigration , but also for the significant decrease in the number of births.
“Albania, with the hope given by the Revival, may become synonymous with hope, Albania MAY become an opportunity and no longer a utopia for the hearts of all young people and young families, and also for those categories that are more marginalized, perhaps because they are not part of a certain district,” Monsignor Dodaj stressed.
Further he said that the ongoing war with its consequences on the most fragile has shown us that we are all actually vulnerable, fragile and incapable in the face of the force of evil. Sometimes we think we can dominate evil by reacting with greater evil, but in doing so we have contributed to the worsening of the situation. Peace never comes through weapons, just like in our society, dialogue never comes through insult, revenge, blackmail or oppression.
“The drama of our society is that evil has become so familiar that it no longer makes news. This is creating almost a culture of isolated life, as if everything were an individual and personal factor without a social effect, when in fact we see how evil sows only disappointment and crime pays only with death,” said Monsignor Dodaj.
Further Monsignor Dodaj said that the Easter of the Resurrection of Jesus helps us to fight evil, following this mystery of God’s love that is manifested in the Lord Jesus, Who fights evil and does not give in to it.
“So, this is the path to which we are called in a world that desperately needs to re-weave the beauty and reason that gives meaning to life. We need light. Only love can overcome evil and darkness with light. Easter is an invitation to a new creativity around the world, which with the strength of the Resurrected Christ, the Prince of Peace, can restore Peace!
