Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Saturday that he has received a personal invitation from former U.S. President Donald J. Trump for Albania to be represented on what he described as a newly envisioned international “Peace Board,” in which Albania would participate as a founding member.
In a post published on his official Facebook page, Rama called the invitation a great honor and said it reflects Albania’s growing international stature and its strengthened strategic partnership with the United States.
“Greatly honoured by President Trump’s personal invitation to represent Albania on the Peace Board, a new international organisation envisioned by him, where Albania is invited as a founding member,” Rama wrote, adding that such recognition would have been “completely unimaginable only a few years ago.”
The prime minister said the invitation demonstrates the progress Albania has made in recent years, describing the country as “dignified and respected worldwide as never before.” He also emphasized what he called the exceptional level reached in relations between Albania and the United States.
Rama expressed personal pride in Albania’s achievements and thanked Trump directly for the invitation, concluding his message with the words: “Thank you Mr. President. God bless Albania and the United States.”
