Commissioner Insists No Albanian Step towards EU Without Full Parliament

“We will keep our hand contiously stretched out without any interruption for the opposition and the DP is welcome at any time to return to the ground to open a process of discussion completely without any conditions on how we can contribute together to push things forward as much as possible and of course to the European integration of Albania,” has declared Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Rama made that statement on the occasion of the short visit of the Commissioner for Enlargement in the European Union, Oliver Varheyli to Tirana on Wednesday.
The head of the Albanian government stressed that the third term will not resemble the first two in terms of the domestic civil fight. Among other things, Rama stressed that the SP will abandon the trenches of that old, stale and banal war, and that it is not at all necessary for the country.
“My will is that the third term does not resemble the first two, in terms of internal civil fight. Commissioner Varhelyi focused mostly on the COVID-19 pandemic and the assistance that the EU has provided to the Western Balkans in general, and Albania in particular. He said that thanks to the European Union and the assistance of the Austrian state, 145,000 Pfizer vaccines had arrived in Albania.
In the meantime he declared: “Without a full parliament you can not walk along the path of the EU. There is still much work to be done.”

After the conference with the Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Commissioner for Enlargement in the European Union Oliver Varhelyi held a meeting with the leader of the Democrats Lulzim Basha. The meeting took place in Rinas, but there was no statement for the media.
Commissioner Varhelyi has left Albania to continue his visit to Kosovo. He first met with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, with whom he held a joint conference.
Varhelyi’s visit also marks the arrival of the first vaccines from the EU for Kosovo, as he promises that efforts are being made for other doses in the future. /argumentum.al
