Albania is preparing to distribute more than 17,000 Albanian-language textbooks to students in the Diaspora for the 2026–2027 school year, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha said in a video message.
“Before departing for an international event, I would like to say a few words about the textbooks for the 2026–2027 school year in the Diaspora,” Hoxha said.
According to the minister, more than 5,700 educational packages, comprising approximately 17,000 textbooks, are planned for distribution in 15 European countries, as well as in the United States and Canada.
The materials include the common textbooks “Albanian Language” and “Albanian Culture” for Levels 1, 2 and 3.
Hoxha said that, in cooperation with the Centre for Diaspora Publications and the Ministry of Education, the authorities will make every effort to meet 100 percent of the requests for the educational materials.
A key development for the 2026–2027 school year is the inclusion of Level 3, which Hoxha described as an important step towards consolidating the full cycle of common textbooks for the Albanian Diaspora.
Albania’s diplomatic missions are currently updating information on the actual number of students, the levels they attend, teachers and distribution addresses.
The minister called on parents and teachers in the Diaspora to follow the instructions and announcements issued by Albanian diplomatic missions and embassies in their respective countries in order to stay informed in real time about the distribution process.
The initiative is aimed at supporting Albanian-language education in the Diaspora and ensuring greater access to common educational materials for Albanian children living abroad.
