“We have raised the cooperation between the two parliaments to a new level, aiming at intensification at the level of parliamentary committees as well. It is important that we deepen economic cooperation and it should be one of the top priorities in our relationship.”
This is what was declared by the Chairman of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party (SP), Taulant Balla during a meeting with the Ambassador of Greece to Albania, Sophia Philippidou in the Presidency of the Parliament on Monday.According to Balla, the European Union has many projects for the Western Balkans region and the two countries should use cross-border cooperation between municipalities in joint projects.
“Both countries can do more in some areas, such as the cooperation of chambers of commerce, investment, energy and especially tourism,” said Balla.
Neither the office of deputy Balla nor the Greek Embassy have made any references on what Athens’ top diplomat to Tirana said as there are some unresolved issues between the two countries like the questions of the delimitation of the territorial sea boundaries and the war law of Greece against Albania which is still in force. /Argumentum.al
