Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha said in a statement to the media that Premier Edi Rama and diplomats are putting pressure on the court after the appeal of Enkelejd Alibeaj, head of the Democratic Party (DP) parliamentary group, against the decision of the Court that recognized the December 11 Assembly held by supporters of the opponents of former DP head Lulzim Basha.
Berisha stressed that he has as evidence two sources and he will not hesitate to make public the facts. He said that extraordinary and comprehensive pressures are being exerted in court by PM Edi Rama and some ambassadors.
“If I did not have (information by) two sources I would not say it. I am following it. I warn that the government and not only have strongly intervened in court … Diplomats and ambassadors. Two sources have confirmed such a thing to me. This is very important. I will not hesitate to make them public,” said Berisha after the marathon meeting of the DP parliamentary group which instead of bringing the two sides closer has deepened the gap between them. Analysts consider this situation in DP as very favorable for PM Rama to carry out his schemes without facing a consolidated opposition. /Argumentum.al
