TIRANA, May 31 – The Conference of Chairmen decided on Tuesday that the plenary session of the Assembly for the fourth round for the election of the President of the Republic will take place on Saturday, June 4, at 18:00.
The Conference of Chairmen approved that the date of submission of documentation for candidates for President be June 4, until 12:00.
Also, Tuesday’s Conference approved that the meeting of the Committee on Legal Affairs, Public Administration and Human Rights be held on Saturday, June 4, at 16:00.
The Assembly convened on Monday in a special plenary session for the conduct of the third voting for the election of the new president of Albania.
No candidacy was presented in this session within the legal deadlines set, which made the third voting of the presidential election pass without any name and without any action. Thus, the third round was considered exhausted.
The chairman of the socialist parliamentary group, Taulant Balla said they had made an exception that is in honor of the Albanian Parliament, in honor of democracy and the Albanian state, that the former Democrat PM, Sali Berisha cannot be considered in any form of consultation whenever appear in a list of proposals. “We have said since the first day that we will negotiate only with the 3 parliamentary opposition groups,” said Balla.
