TIRANA, December 2 – The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhacka held talks with the Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Dendias in Athens on Friday. Xhacka visited Greece a short time after the visit to Tirana of her Greek counterpart.
During the meeting, the two ministers appreciated the very good relations between Albania and Greece and exchanged ideas on the further improvement and intensification of bilateral cooperation in the future. They also discussed the illegal Russian aggression against Ukraine and its impact on the region.
Minister Xhacka emphasized that the relations between Albania and Greece are supported by the friendship between the two countries and peoples, the partnership in NATO and the common vision for the European future of the region. She also underlined the fact that both countries have established an effective and constructive level of cooperation on all issues of common interest.
Xhacka expressed her gratitude for Greece’s continuous support for Albania’s EU integration and expressed her belief that Albania’s EU membership is beneficial for the region as a whole.
During the meeting, the ministers touched upon the issues related to finding the necessary solutions, including the law on war, the border agreements between the two countries, the referral to the international court of justice of the issue of the delimitation of maritime areas, expressing their commitment to moving forward towards mutually beneficial solutions. /Argumentum.al
