TIRANA, April 9 – President Bajram Begaj visited the Cathedral of Rrëshen, northern Albania, on the day of the Catholic Easter on Sunday. During his visit, President Begaj was received by the Bishop of Rrëshen diocese, Monsignor Gjergj Meta.
In a statement to the media, Begaj said that it was a special pleasure to be in the Cathedral of Rëshen and wished all Catholic believers “Happy Easter!”
“May this day be a time of revival of hope, peace and harmony in all your families, in our society and in the troubled world we live in. Today is the day that we must bring to our attention that good can triumph over evil, hope over pessimism. We must all work to have light before darkness. It is a pleasure to be here today,” said the President in his speech.
Accompanied by Monsignor Gjergj Meta, President Begaj also visited the home of the Vincentian sisters.
In the meantime, Prime Minister Edi Rama congratulated all Catholic believers through a post on Facebook.
“I wish you a happy Catholic Easter on the day of the Resurrection of Christ, which celebrates infinite love and sacrifice for man,” said the Prime Minister.
