The leadership of the Democratic Party (DP) decided late on Monday night the expulsion from the DP of its founder Sali Berisha and 8 others who allegedly organized the violent protest at the party hedadquarters on January 8 this year.
Basha’s DP statement said that the decision was taken “after the violent and premeditated attack on January 8 against the Democratic Party headquarters, which seriously endangered the lives of members of the Chairmanship, Parliamentary Group, National Council, National Assembly, and party members themselves. They were called to a protest that was declared peaceful, but was prepared to cause bloodshed among Democrats.”
The statement also said that the chairmanship’s decision came after the unprecedented destruction of the Democratic Party headquarters by individuals with criminal records and without any connection with the Democratic Party.
