TIRANA, May 1 – Prime Minister Edi Rama held the next meeting within the campaign of May 14 local elections in the city of Librazhdi on Monday.
He said that May 14 is not the day when the community is divided into two parts, but the day when Albanian citizens will decide who they will hire to serve in the next 4 years.
Rama said that Albania should no longer be returned to persons stigmatized by the Albanian people and partners.
“Always when they have had it in their hands, they have turned back the community, they have turned back the hard work. Election for mayors is the choice of the right person to do the work, not to find a person and put him in the office of the municipality to then fill the buses to fight against the government,” said Rama.
According to him, Albania no longer returns to the actors branded by the Albanian people and the US because there is no reason to give them a chance.
Albania will hold local elections on May 14 and they are seen as a test for the majority as well as for the opposition which has been split and did not participate in the previous local elections. For the moment the Democratic Party has one Mayor who runs the northern city of Shkodra, a bastion of the democrats. These elections will also show how strong is the faction of the DP led by Enkelejd Alibeaj, a tool of the former DP head, Lulzim Basha who is not involved in the electoral campaign. The result of these elections might be the last attempt for an eventual return of him to the political scene. /Argumentum.al
