TIRANA, November 26 – The Special Court reconfirmed on Saturday the security measure “arrest in prison” for the 10 people detained for the drug laboratory that was discovered in the commune of Frakull in the district of Fier, southern Albania.
The person who ordered the organic fertilizer from Colombia, Zenel Cervenaku, claimed that he had no knowledge of the amount of narcotics in the bags, reported Balkan web.
According to him, he made the order only for organic fertilizer. The other defendants have also had a negative attitude before the court and have claimed that they have no knowledge of illegal activity. Meanwhile, the defense lawyers claimed
in the hearing session that the apartment where the bags with the fertilizer were found is not a laboratory, as they said that they do not have an expert report to prove that there is cocaine inside the fertilizer.
In addition to the 10 arrested persons, several other persons are wanted.
The huge amount of cocaine seized is worth 40 million euros, according to the police. /Argumentum.al
