TIRANA, November 25 – The State Police published on Friday on social networks the images of the anti-drug mega-operation coded “Consistency” carried out by the State Police, under the direction of the prosecution authority for serious crimes, SPAK, and in cooperation with the Montenegrin police and other agencies of law enforcement.
A structured criminal group in the field of trafficking strong drugs such as cocaine has been at the center of the operation and the security measure “arrest in prison” for the criminal offense “trafficking in narcotics” carried out in the form of a structured criminal group has been executed so far for 10 citizens.
In addition, the police carried out the control of 14 premises in the cities of Tirana, Lushnja and Fier, and as a result: 6 firearms, 2 shotguns, combat ammunition, about 16,000 euros and 20 pallets with about 24 tons of “chemical fertilizer” were seized. It is reasonably suspected based on evidence that there is a quantity of about 430 kg of the narcotic substance cocaine within the ‘chemical fertilizer’ and it’s worth about 40 million euros referring to the sale in the retail market.
The General Director of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku thanked the entire police force for the successful completion of this mega-operation.
The ringleader of the drug group is the former Socialist head of the commune of Frakull in Fier Vikor Cervanaku whose house was used as a storage place for 24 tons of chemical fertilizer in which 430 kilograms of cocaine were dissolved.
The Cervanaku family had set up all the necessary structures to enter the drug business. Police said the narcotics were ordered by the brother of the former mayor, Zenel Cervanaku. On January 19 of this year, he created the company with the activity of importing chemical fertilizers and exotic fruits and placed an order in Colombia for the shipment of 24 tons of chemical fertilizers. Involved in the criminal scheme were their other relatives with different businesses.
In addition to the brothers Zenel and Viktor Cervanaku 8 other people were arrested. But the authorities still do not know who would carry out the chemical process of separating the cocaine from the fertilizer, according to police sources. /Argumentum.al
