Albania recorded the highest daily COVID fatalities in more than 6 months as eleven people lost their lives over the last 24 hours, according to official information on Sunday.
It is the highest daily mortality recorded in Albania since last March, and one of the highest since the outbreak of the epidemic.
The number of the infected people was 539, according to official figures.
Both number of new infections and deaths have steadily increased in the past 4-6 weeks as compared with the same situation last year.
Albanian government has reiterated its call for vaccination of everyone over 18 years old. About 755 thousand people have been fully vaccinated so far, out of 2,3 million people 18 years older living in the country.
In face of the aggressive spread of the pandemic the MP of the opposition Democratic Party (DP), Tritan Shehu said this is a frightening situation.
Shehu, a former health Minister, accused of irresponsibility the government of PM Edi Rama on Sunday. /argumentum.al
