TIRANA-“I invite the citizens to face with responsibility and calmness the current situation and to respect strictly the medical protocols,” has said Albanian President Ilir Meta.
The head of state addressed that appeal to Albanians on Monday after the confirmation that two citizens had been found affected by Covid-19 virus the first cases in Albania since the coronavirus infection hit severely China spreading worldwide.
“There is no room for panic but, of course, there is no room for the least underestimation by all institutions. It is required maximum responsibility under these circumstances,” said Mr. Meta speaking to the media.
In addition he called on all institutions of this Balkan country to take measures for securing the necessary protection means, particularly for the medical staff.
“I am following the situation step by step and together with the relevant institutions we will make the utmost to be close to every citizen and to overcome this situation with the least impact,” Mr. Meta said calling for detailed plans of every structure and a clear action plan of the medical structures. The President also called for a detailed economic plan for the supportive financial actions. /argumentum.al
