TIRANA – “At a time when the entire Albania is self-isolated to cope with the pandemic of COVID-19 coronavirus, Greek extremist circles are provoking within the territory of the country by raising the flag of North Epirus in its territory,” has said a statement released by the Justice, Integration and Unity Party (PDIU).
In the statement to the media last Friday, PDIU condemns the event as unacceptable and says that Greek extremist circles are provoking.
According to PDIU, the silence on the Cham issue, the erection of the cemetery of Greek soldiers, the self-declaration census for the Greek minority, the addition of three new conditions by Athens for the opening of EU accession negotiations show the revenge and persistent agenda of Greece even at this time when humanity is at war for the right to life.
“PDIU condemns as unacceptable the event of April 3 in Himara. Such events have already turned into repeated, arrogant and legally reprehensible rituals,” said PDIU which represents the Cham community in Albania.
It’s noted that the Cham question seems to be a political theme for domestic purpose on Albanian political scene especially at election times, rather than a problem to be resolved.
“We call on the Albanian state, law enforcement institutions, Prosecution, SHISH, and Police to act with the force of law in maintaining national integrity and dignity of the country,” it is said in the PDIU statement./argumentum.al
