TIRANA – Prime Minister Edi Rama has publicly thanked President Ilir Meta for his stance during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a live talk show with News 24 TV on Monday Rama said that Meta has held a very respectable position and has been very constructive.
“Previous clashes have been dictated by previous positions,” said the government head, who is also chairman of the ruling Socialist Party. “The position of the President leaves nothing to be desired in this situation; he has been in his role with responsibility and this is to be fully respected,” the PM said.
Further on he said: “Let’s not worry about what happened, but what we have today, and let us see what comes next. The president, who had previously become one with the opposition, has now become one with the people. He is doing the right thing and I respect what he is doing. It is not a problem ever for me to say what I think.”

“It should be expected the end of the state of emergency to see if President’s “Red and Black Spring” and Rama’s initiative to oust Meta return or a “new love story” will be born in this pandemic spring.”/argumentum.al
