TIRANA – The coronavirus epidemic has claimed the life of 30 people in Albania as a new fatality was announced on Tuesday by local health authorities who also confirmed that the total number of affected persons from Covid – 19 amounted to 750.
In the daily update the Public Health Institute Director, Albana Fico announced that a 52-year old from the town of Kruja passed away at the infectious diseases hospital in Tirana on Tuesday morning.
In the meantime she said that 267 people suspected of being affected from the virus were tested during the last 24 hours and the results of the test analysis showed that 14 persons were infected. Giving details Fico said that 7 cases were confirmed in Tirana, 5 cases in Kruja and 2 cases in Shkodra. “Since the outbreak So far, 7758 suspected cases have been tested out of which 750 resulted positive. The average age of confirmed cases is 46.8 years old,” she said.
In addition Fico informed that 32 patients were hospitalized in the two COVID-19 hospitals in Tirana./argumentum.al
