Will continue to strongly support implementation of justice reforms in (Albania). We must bend the arc of history towards justice.”
Ambassador Kim met Dvorani after President Ilir Meta sent a letter to the High Court and the High Judicial Council (HJC) stating that Dvorani’s mandate as a member of the Supreme Court was over. Meta told these institutions that he could no longer be a member of the High Court or the head of JAC as his term of office ended in 2014.
In response to President’s request the High Judicial Council ruled to put off the consideration of the case.
A day before the meeting of HJC a defiant Dvorani said: “I will remain on duty until the successor is appointed. Appointments in the Supreme Court are not like in the Constitutional Court, they are not made with names, but with positions.”/argumentum.al
