TIRANA – There were both growth of the number of the new coronavirus cases and infected persons needing hospitalization during the last 24 hours in Albania, according to the daily update by the expert of the Institute of Public Health expert, Eugena Tomini on Friday.
Tomini revealed that 12 new affected persons were confirmed which brings the total number of infected to 981 in Albania so far. According to the data of
the recent days there have been fluctuation in numbers of daily cases, as on Thursday there were 5 cases, the day before 15 and, on Monday only 1 and so on.
In addition there was an increase of the number of hospitalized patients from 14 to 15 and the number of those in intensive care from 3 to 5.
However, Tomini assured for stability of coronavirus outbreak as showed by the number of deaths, 31, unchanged for more than 3 weeks and by the percentage of the recovered, 79%.
“During the last 24 hours, 174 citizens were tested as suspects affected by Covid-19 and 12 cases were confirmed positive. The geographical distribution of cases is as follows: 7 cases in Tirana, 2 in Fier, 2 in Kruja and 1 in Durres. 6 citizens have recovered in past 24 hours,” the expert said. /argumentum.al
