Prime Minister Edi Rama broke out two news on late on Sunday: the kick off of tourist season in June and the opening of land borders on June 1.
Rama announced that the tourist season will start in June in Albania, which will also open land borders with neighboring countries for Albanians as of June 1. Starting from June 1, only hotel beaches will be opened, while from June 10, the beaches will be accessible to everyone, the premier said.
“We are ready to open the land borders but we have to get approval from the countries with which we have direct flights. Starting from Monday (June 1), we will open the land borders with the neighbors for all Albanians, be them from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, or Montenegro. We call on them to be very cautious,” Rama said.
He also announced that this week will be the last of restrictions in Tirana and other red areas, but the rule about no vehicle movement on the weekends will remain in force. /argumentum.al
