TIRANA – One fatality, 23 new affected cases with coronavirus and return of infection in the Sanatorium “Shefqet Ndroqi” hospital in the Capital after a 2-week normalcy are the disheartening balance sheet registered in the last 24 hours in Albania.
According to specialist of the Institute of Public Health Marjeta Dervishi, with the 23 cases registered in the last 24 hours Albania has hit 1122 coronavirus cases in total. The indected people were diagnosed in Tirana (16), Mat (2), Lushnja (2), Durres (1), Kruja (1) and Librazhd (1). In the meantime, 21 healthcare professionals have been tested and 2 resulted positive.
“Currently, 26 patients are being treated at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, 4 of whom are in intensive care and 1 patient is in a grave condition. In the last 24 hours, 6 citizens have been recovered, bringing the number of healedpatients to 857. Since the beginning of the pandemic, about 16,000 molecular and serological tests have been performed,” said Dervishi.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 1122 confirmed cases, of which 232 people are currently active with COVID19, mainly in Tirana, Durres and Kruja, said the specialist.
Given the worsening situation when Albania will make the ‘Grand Opening’ on June 2 the implementation of the recommended measures remains very important for all citizens, said the Ministry of Health and Social Protection appealing once again to the citizens to be careful. “Maintain physical distance and personal hygiene.
