TIRANA – Images of the agony inside the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Tirana in a video on FB, 102 new cases of people infected with coronavirus and four fatalities have been the main information of local authorities for the public opinion on Saturday.
The video on Facebook was shown by Health Minister Ogerta Manastirliu with images inside the Infectious Diseases Hospital where as she said the combat of infected patients with Covid-19 takes place.
As the minister said the video aims at raising the awareness of citizens about the serious consequences of the C19 virus. Manastirliu also had an appeal to Albanians asking them to wear masks.
“Please, wear the mask! Do not risk your life and the lives of your loved ones,” she said in her appeal.
In the meantime the details of the daily medical bulletin released by the Health Ministry said that 102 persons were confirmed positive for the disease over the past 24 hours as the number of fatalities mounted to 111. Three of the victims – a 60-year old from Shkodra, a 64-year-old from Durres and another 61-year-old from Tirana had underlying diseases, said the ministry, but the fourth victim, a 43-year-old from Kamza, had no other disease.
The largest number of new infections was registered in Tirana with 67 cases followed by Shkodra with 5. Four new cases were confirmed each in Kruja, two each in Berat, Kavaja, Peqin, and one case each in Durres, Has, Korca, Lezha, Lushnja, Vlora and Saranda.
The senior DP official, Tritan Shehu posted two appeals on his FB account on Saturday.
He called on citizens to abide by the well- known individual obligations including the mask- wearing to cope with the disease. While the second appeal was to government institutions to unveil a detailed strategy to combat the C19 virus. /argumentum.al
