The coronavirus situation in Albania continues to be severe where the number of cases with COVID19 increased during the last 24 hours.
According to the latest data, it is learned that 161 new coronavirus affected cases and 3 victims have been recorded.
Dr. Gentiana Qirjako from the Institute of Public Health said on Friday the epidemiological data revealed that the incidence of the C19 infections is 62.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants during the two weeks.
“Compared to the 2-week incidence of the previous weeks there is a slight decrease, but this is an important moment to remember the importance of following the rules as the opening of schools can have an impact on the epidemiological situation,” said Dr. Qirjako.
In the last 24 hours, 97 citizens have recovered, bringing to 6,443 the number of recovered patients.
In the meantime 188 patients are being treated in the Infectious Diseases and ‘Shefqet Ndroqi’ hospitals, 21 in intensive therapy, out of which 7 patients are intubated.
“With the resumption of the academic school year the Ministry of Health and Social Protection appeals to teachers, parents, students to strictly respect the measures against COVID19 in order to curb the spread of this virus,” said Dr. Qirjako who noted that the mask wearing is mandatory./argumentum.al
