US Ambassador Yuri Kim welcomed Albania’s ‘strong and principled support’ for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression, the US Embassy said in a post on Facebook after a.meting of Premier Edi Rama with Washington’s top diplomats to Tirana on Wednesday.
It is stressed in the announcement that the US top diplomat underlined during the meeting that the fight against corruption is a top priority for the United States, noting that the burden of responsibility is naturally greater on those who govern.
Ambassador Kim met with Prime Minister Rama before his visit to Washington DC, reported the Embassy, which welcomed the strong and principled support of Albania for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression both as NATO ally and an UN Security Council member where the US is proud to work with Albania as a “co-pen holder” for the Council on Ukraine.
Ambassador Kim also spoke with Rama about the importance of strengthening democratic institutions, historic progress in strengthening the defense relationship, and further steps to increase trade and investment between the US and Albania, the announcement said. / Argumentum.al
