TIRANA, April 9- The crisis in the opposition Democratic Party (DP) was predicted by the Socialist Party chairman Edi Rama some time ago, and even the former DP chairman, Lulzim Basha was notified about it by him.
“I sent a message to Luzim Basha, I was correct. I was wrong with only a year difference, I thought this (crisis) would happen a year sooner,” Rama told the delegates of the Socialist Party (SP) Congress, revealing how close he has been collaborating with Basha a loser in every election since 2013.
During the deliberations of the Congress, Rama paid disturbing attention to the return of veteran Democrat leader Sali Berisha to the helm of the DP, which he compared to Ismail Kadare’s work “The General of the Dead Army”.
“Imagine joining a dead person alive, this would also challenge Ismail Kadare’s masterpiece, just imagine a little. The colonel will be someone else but I am not mentioning him so that we do not have a diplomatic incident,” said the prime minister.
A quick review of Rama’s performance in the Congress of the ruling party shows his concerns are the return of Berisha to DP’s leadership, Basha’s failure and activities of President Ilir Meta. His harsh curses towards Berisha and Meta in a party forum warn of fears of Rama what the future developments will be in Albania gripped by a multifaceted crisis. It seems as if he is not worried about the impact of the crisis on the people.
