TIRANA, April 11 – Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said that if the green light for the accession talks with the EU is not given in June because of Bulgaria, he will demand the separation from Macedonia as Albanians wanted in the National Counciling.
Rama declared this at joint press conference with the Federal Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz after talks with him during a two-day visit to Berlin on Monday.
“This will happen only if in June the negotiations of Albania are not formally opened because of Bulgaria. Until June, as we have laid out in the consultation with the Albanians, we will continue to be in line with North Macedonia that both countries should receive the green light,” Rama said.
According to him, if Bulgaria blocks North Macedonia in June, Albania will demand decoupling from Skopje because it can not happen that someone can not leave the house due to conflicts of two neighbors. Earlier on Monday, the Prime Minister had a meeting with Franziska Giffey, Mayor of Berlin, followed by a bilateral meeting with Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of Germany. /argumentum.al
