TIRANA, May 16 – The visit of the former Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the relations between Albania and the US has been intertwined with an event in the energy field in this Balkan country.
On this occasion, a memorandum of understanding was signed on Monday between Albgaz Sh.a and the companies Linden Energy and Overgas on exploring opportunities for cooperation in terms of diversification of natural gas supply sources, which opens the door to the return of the Vlora LNG terminal to a regional project.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku said that Albania turns into an exporting country thanks to the floating terminal that will be set up in Vlora
“Honored for the support we have received from the beginning for the already regional liquefied gas project which will provide energy security by turning our country into an important point for the entire region,” said Balluku.
Present at the ceremony, Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. He shared some photos from the meeting with him.
“I and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo talked about the close relationship between Albania and the US, the consequences of the war on the economic chain, US projects in Albania, the situation in the region and the rare beauty of our country,” Rama said in his post on social networks. /Argumentum.al
