TIRANA, August 15 – The chairman of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party (SP), Taulant Balla, said on Monday that “the Assembly will address in September the absurd situation of how a (former) party secretary declared ‘non grata’ by the USA and Great Britain continues to desecrate this institution”.
Balla also published on social networks a photo of Sali Berisha alongside the late communist dictator, Enver Hoxha.
Hoxha was the founder and leader of the Party of Labor of Albania which was transformed into the Socialist Party after the 1990s and its membership and leaders just changed membership cards.
“The Parliament of Albania will address during the new session that begins in September the unacceptable and absurd situation of how a party secretary and a person close to the leadership of the communist dictatorship, declared ‘non grata’ by the United States of America and Great Britain, continues to desecrate this institution with his presence and language,” said Balla.
It should be expected what ruling SP is going to undertake against Berisha, a deputy elected by his supporters in regular and legal elections in Albania.
