TIRANA, August 20 – The Holy Feast of the Bektashi started on Saturday as hundreds of citizens and believers started the Pilgrimage to the Holy Mountain of Tomborr in Berat, southern Albania. The annual pilgrimage will continue until August 25.
Every year, around 300-400,000 pilgrims from all over Albania, the diaspora and the world gather in Teqe e Kulmaku. The Teqeja of Kulmaku has been prepared and opened its doors a few days ago to welcome the pilgrims who will be part of this celebration, and all the measures have been taken so that there is no shortage of tents, ighting, drinking water and rest rooms for the pilgrims at the mountain of Tomorri. The religious rites of the holiday are performed during the 5 days of the pilgrimage in Teqe e Kulmaku and near the grave of Abaz Ali, where every pilgrim prays for health, goodness and peace in their families. All believers and pilgrims who join this holy holiday sacrifice a lamb for themselves and their family as a sign of kindness.
