TIRANA, August 25 – The chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha declared at a meeting with Democrat supporters in Pogradec, southeastern Albania, on Thursday that the DP never takes power in any other way than by vote.
But Berisha emphasized as quoted by Syri.net that the protest is undoubtedly a democratic institution to teach the deserved lessons to the government of PM Edi Rama. “The protest is undoubtedly the democratic institution to teach the deserved lessons to this government and this regime,” said Berisha.
DP head also commented on the initiation of investigations by the prosecution authority of serious crimes, SPAK, against the chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, calling the actions of SPAK as a move in the service of Rama. “Everything in the framework of the transformation of SPAK, SHISH, the Authority of Files into annexes of Edi Rama’s office. Everything takes place within the framework of the monist state,” said Berisha.
Regarding SP’s proposals to exclude former security agents from the parliament and whether he will support this law in the parliament, Berisha said that the DP will always be for Lustration process
“We voted in favor of the lustration law twice, SP opposed it. In 2008 SP submitted that law to the Constitutional Court. DP will always be for lustration process. Rama is in a terrible panic and thinks that using legal procedures against opponents will be saved, but he will not be saved,” said Berisha.
