TIRANA, August 26 – Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that the Gramsh incident did not violate Albania’s national security as those objects were declassified as objects of special importance in 2012.
Rama made that revelation in the joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel on Friday.
“I have not had the opportunity to express myself regarding this, even though the Minister of Defense together with the Minister of the Interior, have made all the necessary explanations. The fog raised over the so-called objects of special importance was for crying and laughing. They are not objects of special importance, they are not even factories that produce weapons; they are destroyed objects declassified as of special importance in 2012,” said Rama.
According to him, they have the status of limited liability companies that are absolutely bankrupt and have several guards there to protect that perimeter from encroachment. “To say that they are doing espionage by photographing those archeological remains of communism is very ridiculous, while what should concern you and concerns us is what are the real intentions of these people in our country,” said Rama.
The Prime Minister emphasized that it is up to the investigation to find out more about this. In the meantime, he said that “we have to see from the investigation and judgment which the real intention is, since this has nothing to do with objects.”
When asked about the investigation of the prosecution authority of serious crimes, SPAK against former president Ilir Meta and the accusations made by the latter against the government, Rama said that “I never speak in the presence of friends who honor us from abroad and in the presence of translators for matters of domestic policy.”
