TIRANA, October 22 – Prime Minister Edi Rama said in the southern city of Fier on Saturday that Russia has financed the Democratic Party (DP) precisely to create the current turmoil in Albania.
“When Taulant (Balla), Erjon Braçe, Elisa (Spiropali) and I don’t know who else said that the Democratic Party is financed by Russian money, they Democrats) jumped up: ‘these are the devices of Soros, of the regime, the desperate cries of Edi Rama who is on the run’,” said the PM.
According to him, he didn’t quit and moreover what was said appears in the CIA report.
“Who shouts more now about Kosovo and patriotism and national pride, in fact history shows that they have something to hide,” Rama told farmers in Fier, a bastion of the Socialist Party (SP).
PM reiterated the case when DP voted along with Russia in favor of accusing Kosovo of human organ trafficking in a resolution adopted by the Assembly of the Council of Europe 11 years ago.
“Why exactly did the Democratic Party join the Russian delegation in order to stab them (Kosovars) on the back, to leave this stamp on their foreheads? Why did the Russians’ money go to the Democratic Party? What can the Russians give money to the Democratic Party for? Why? Can you tell me why? Just for one thing, to make a turmoil here, what else do the Russians need?” emphasized Rama.
PM Rama called on participants to vote in favor of Socialist candidates in the upcoming local power elections. /Argumentum.al
