President of the Republic Bajram Begaj today received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Albania, Olga Cogen, on the occasion of the presentation of her Letters of Credence.
During the meeting, President Begaj welcomed Belgium’s decision to open, for the first time, its embassy in Tirana, describing the move as an important step toward further strengthening bilateral relations.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the excellent relations between the two countries, based on shared European values, close political dialogue, and strong cooperation within NATO and other international organizations.
President Begaj also praised Belgium’s continued support for Albania’s European integration process, emphasizing that membership in the European Union remains a strategic priority for Albania.
The Head of State assured Ambassador Cogen of the support of the Presidency and Albanian institutions in successfully carrying out her diplomatic mission in Albania.
