The veteran leader of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha has revealed that the current Democrat chief, Lulzim Basha is accused by Belgian prosecutors of collaborating with a criminal organization that transports money through trafficking. During the meeting with citizens of Durres where he introduced the candidate for mayor, Ardian Muka, on Friday Berisha said that Basha has changed his testimony before prosecutors, giving another version before them. Berisha said that the investigation for Toyota Yaris against Basha was closed by PM Edi Rama in Albania, but it is the Belgian prosecutors who will go to the end of this operation.
Basha, according to Berisha, had given them a completely different variant but he changed the scheme on Thursday.
The DP head, Basha was interrogated by the Belgian prosecutors in a 2.5 hour- session in Tirana on Thursday.
“It was immediately ascertained that it was fraud under oath, a criminal offense. Edi Rama closed the Toyota Yaris affair with a man, but the Belgian prosecutors will go to the end of this operation. They have hundreds of thousands of tabulations and documents. Therefore, Basha must not be brave with the Belgian prosecutors,” said Berisha.
In the meantime Berisha considered the project for the Port of Durres a corrupt affair claiming that Rama and Basha united to rob the Port of Durres, which has not happened to this city in 3,000 years. Berisha’s call was for the citizens not to buy any m2 of what he called the Rama-Basha mafia that has started to sell construction land in the Port of Durres.
