TIRANA, October 12 – The MP of the Freedom Party (FP), Petrit Vasili said in a press conference on Wednesday that the government has taken the Parliament of Albania hostage.
“Parliament is experiencing the darkest days in these 30 years of pluralism and it can be said without exaggeration that the government is implementing an institutional coup to block Parliament,” he said.
Vasili said that it is unimaginable that the Albanian Parliament has examined a total of two draft international agreements in the last three sessions alone, while on Thursday’s agenda there is no draft law filed.
The veteran FP deputy said that the Freedom Party has submitted since 7 months bills on the price of oil and changes to the Criminal Code for gatherings, which have not been taken into consideration.
While the Parliament examines in a lightning-fast manner any type of government bill that it needs for the thefts it does or to serve the propaganda of the day, i.e. bills that have zero value for the citizen.
According to him, the government has taken the basic institution of the Albanian state hostage in a mafia way.
“This situation places great responsibility on the Speaker of the Parliament, Lindita Nikolla, who, considering herself simply and only as an instrument of the government, does nothing but is being used in order to take the Parliament hostage by the government,” said Vasili, who stressed that this situation must end and it also legitimizes any kind of reaction of the citizens in the current conditions. /Argumentum.al
