Thirteen agreements reached months ago between the governments of Albania and Kosovo to deepen cooperation are being considered by the deputies of these two countries with a rapid dynamics for ratification.
This was unveiled by the Ambassador of Albania to Pristina, Qemal Minxhozi in an interview with Kosovapress on Saturday. “Albania remains committed to the implementation of these agreements, especially to the implementation of mutual facilities in customs procedures and to the facilitation of procedures for obtaining a temporary residence permit,” he said.
These accords were sealed at the joint meeting of the two governments on November 26, 2021 in Elbasan.
“The various committees of the parliaments of Albania and Kosovo have been in constant contact to see how these agreements can be implemented in the legislative plan,” he said. An important agreement, according to Ambassador Minxhozit, remains the one on the port of Durres, which aims to increase cooperation in the field of trade and economy.
The border points between the two countries, the movement in the territories that divide Albania and Kosovo, have also been regulated by decisions of the parliaments, and of particular value is the agreement in the customs field, Minxhozi said.
He acknowledged that there are barriers between Kosovo and Albania, but added that while there is a border there are also barriers.
The Albanian diplomat also mentioned the trade balance between Kosovo and Albania, revealing jthat trade exchanges are 300 million euros per year, 75 percent in favor of Albania. / Argumentum.al
