Prime Minister Edi Rama said in his speech held at the meeting with the Albanians of Athens that the Albanians are an added value of Greece, who have given their contribution to the economy, knowledge and culture.
He also said that the history between the two countries is closer than it seems while he emphasized that the paths of Albania and Greece are inevitably connected in the future.
“Welcome to my second home in neighboring and friendly Greece. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this touching hospitality. Some here in Greece were surprised. Others were upset. Someone even said that I should not come to visit you. But perhaps when they see this display of family joy they will understand that I have not come to meet their former servants, but to meet the equal masters of this house.
Throughout history, the streets of our homes, wars, fairy tales, our relationships have been much more connected than they let it appear. Even today, the appearance of our relations means much less than the reality, the intertwining of lives and the connection of the inseparable future paths between Albanians and Greeks”, said Prime Minister Rama.
Edi Ramaa in the speech given at the meeting with the Albanian migrants in Athens that the Albanian-Greek relations are closer than the politics of the two countries has made them seem.
He said that regardless of politics, the paths of Albania and Greece are inevitably interconnected.
“You Albanians of Greece are today an added value of the economy, knowledge and culture of this blessed country where for 25 centuries the cradle of philosophy and democracy has been.

Edi Rama send message to Kyriakos Mitsotakis
At the end of his speech to Albanians in Athens, Prime Minister Edi Rama also gave a message to his counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Quoting Naim Frashëri, Rama said that the true desire of Albanians is to live in peace and harmony with their neighbors.
“I want to leave a message to my friend, Prime Minister Mitsotakis. Dear Kyriakos, in 1886, our national poet Naim Frashëri wrote his poem in Greek, “The true desire of the Albanians”.
We want to live with all our neighbors, Slavs and Greeks, in harmony, in brotherhood, with order and peace. Let’s not become enemies and not fight, enough of the many sufferings and tyrannies we have gone through, it is the time of well-being, it is the time of freedom. Many thanks from me and the Albanians of Greece”, said Prime Minister Rama.
