TIRANA, October 13 – Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted regarding the rejection of his invitation by the European People’s Party (EPP) Group at the Council of Europe PPE to a scheduled dinner slamming the deputies of foreign countries which are members of the largest group in the Council.
Some of the guests did not come to the dinner organized by the Albanian mission in Strasbourg last Wednesday night, although they had confirmed it before! “We don’t feel well after the speech, that was the reason. It is understandable. You can’t help but feel bad when you hear a horror story like organ trafficking!” said Rama in a post on social networks on Thursday.
According to his opinion, the speech has fallen like a bolt from the sky! “They will need some time to analyze the facts, understand the terrible magnitude of the mistake made a decade ago and address the need to correct it with a new act,” the PM said.
But the criticism was not limited only to those who refused to go to his dinner in Strasbourg. Rama was so furious at what happened to him slamming even all those in Albania who did not agree with his stance, particularly his zealous defense of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic whom he called ‘my friend’ in his one-hour speech.
In Rama’s view expressed in his post it is disgusting, that even for such an extreme injustice and for such a legitimate national right, and so beyond the politics of the day, the Albanian right and non-gratas and ruble politicians find the courage to oppose him and deal with rubbish.
In the rejection to Rama’s dinner in Strasbourg, Aleksander Pociej, President of EPP/CD Group President said following the intervention of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama in the CoE Assembly on Wednesday that It was with his deep regret that the Presidential Committee had taken a decision to decline the invitation of the Albanian Prime Minister to a working dinner.
