TIRANA, December 19 – Work on the construction of the NATO air base in Kuçovo, southern Albania, continues, according to Prime Minister Edi Rama. Rama shared on social networks on Monday moments from the work on the construction of this base, described as a strategic investment for both Albanian and regional security.
Rama said that “400 jobs have been created at the construction site of the NATO air base in Kuçovo, where the work is progressing at a high pace.”
The Kuçova base will not only restore the former glory of that airport, but it will also be the first NATO base in the Western Balkans. The investment of 50 million euros in the air base of Kuçova enables the transformation of this space into a military airport with NATO standards.
This investment will create new opportunities for the economic and social development of this entire area, where the construction of a state-of-the-art air base will not only mean more employment, but also more economy and consumption in a given radius around it./ Argumentum.al
