A board for the administration of the prices of the products of the basket, that will be established shortly, will be in charge for avoiding any abuse with prices in the Albanian market.The head of government, Edi Rama announced it at a meeting with food suppliers on Thursday.
He warned that whoever does not respect the price set by the board loses the merchandise.”The basket price board will be composed of representatives of the government and supply businesses. Food prices will be set by it and no one will be tolerated to abuse them. If this happens their production will be confiscated,” Rama said.A similar board was created a few days ago which is setting the fuels prices in Albania.The establishment of the new board will be made according to law through a normative act.”Whoever will play with the prices outside what is decided will lose the goods. Of course you will have your profit, but not as you had it before because it does not make sense at a time of crisis,” Rama said. The PM said that in this time of crisis businesses should not think about profit as he unveiled details of the Social Resistance Package.
“There are some basic basket products and here the most significant product is oil, which have jumped in price, not without reason but we believe there is enough space to maneuver with a price reduction for them,” Rama said. /Argumentum.al
