TIRANA, October 5 – The Director General of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, received the Ambassador of Qatar to Albania, Ali Bin Hamad Al Marri on Wednesday, with whom he discussed issues of common interest and the identification of areas of cooperation in the future.
Ambassador Ali Bin Hamad Al Marri expressed his willingness to help and support the State Police not only in previously initiated projects, but also by providing assistance in the field of cybercrimes and assistance with body cameras and radio communication systems for employees of the State Police, which are foreseen in the project that the Qatar Police will offer to the State Police.
Regarding the General Director’s proposal for signing a cooperation agreement between the parties, the ambassador invited the General Director of the State Police for an official visit to Qatar to talk with his counterpart about signing this agreement.
Albania’s top police officer assured the ambassador that all previously initiated projects and agreements will be finalized and the cooperation between the State Police and the Qatari Police will be further deepened.
“The State Police has already changed the work methodology in the interest of increasing the preventive and striking force against crimes and illegalities,” said Rrumbullaku, who has succeeded Gledis Nano, who was fired by PM Edi Rama although the former was backed by the US because of failure to carry out the tasks in Albania.
The State Police is determined to work with partners and law enforcement agencies in order to achieve the best possible results in the fight against global crime, said the new general police director. /Argumentum.al
