The Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) issued an announcement on Monday regarding the meeting of the chairwoman of the parliamentary inquiry commission on urban waste treatment plants, Jorida Tabaku with the head of the prosecution Kraja.
Through an announcement it is stated that the Head of the Special Prosecution Office held a meeting with Jorida Tabaku, Member of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, chairwoman of the Commission of Inquiry set up by the Assembly for incinerators. The meeting took place at the request of Ms. Tabaku, who represents the opposition Democratic Party.
“The Special Prosecution is determined to administer every fact and every clue related to the investigation of criminal proceedings registered in the case of incinerators, wherever they come from, especially from the Commission of Inquiry set up by the Assembly,” SPAK’s statement said.
“On the other hand, we assure the public opinion that prosecutors are independent in their investigative activity, in their decision-making and will analyze with legality, objectivity and impartiality any claim, clue or evidence presented by all parties who have knowledge about the process which is being investigated,” said the announcement.
The question of incinerators is one of the major corruption schemes on which the US Ambassador, Yuri Kim has kept her mouth shut, making not any comment whatsoever. Many people have asked what the reason is for such a stance of Kim. / Argumentum.al
