TIRANA, June 27 – The Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, received on Tuesday the President of the Parliament of Austria, Wolfgang Sobotka, and the delegation accompanying him on the official visit to Albania.
Nikolla appreciated President Sobotka as one of the closest partners and friends of the Assembly and a benevolent supporter of Albanians, which has been proven with his three visits to Albania during the last five years.
“The relations between our countries are excellent and dynamic. We are grateful to Austria for supporting the European integration of Albania,” she said.
The Speaker of the Assembly asked President Sobotka for the continuation of Austria’s support for Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe.
She pointed out that Albania plays an important role in promoting peace and stability in the Western Balkans and is committed to fulfilling all the obligations arising from the Presidency of the Berlin Process for 2023.
Albania strongly supports the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and the “European Plan”, in coordination with Kosovo’s strategic partners, the European Union and the US, as the only way for cooperation between the two countries and peace in the region
The President of the National Council of Austria, Sobotka stated that Austria will continue to support the European integration of Albania and the WB.
